China has approved the combination of China Merchants Group and Sinotrans & CSC, as Beijing continues to restructure its government-owned sector and combine companies that can compete as one internationally. The government-run Assets Supervision & Administration Commission said that the deal had been approved by the State Council and that it would no longer directly supervise Sinotrans & CSC. Financial details of the arrangement were not disclosed.
