Land-side equipment shortages and alleged work slowdowns by dockworkers have been hindering containerised grain exports at US West Coast ports. In early 2014 West Coast box terminals began combating congestion caused by a shortage of truck chassis used to haul containers to and from container yards, particularly at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
