摘要

The easiest part of handling project cargo to Africa comes on the seaward side. The real challenges arise once the cargo has been cleared at the port for onward delivery, usually by road, to its final destination. In some parts of the continent, project cargo requires the creation of landing facilities ashore where no harbour exists. In recent years this has occurred on a number of occasions in Mozambique when a plant is being set up 'in the bush', there are no roads within hundreds of kilometres, and the easiest solution is to land the project cargo directly ashore, close to where it is required.
