There has never been a pool for liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, nor a pool in any shipping sector that ever controlled more than a third of the entire spot fleet, or even close to that market share. Until now. The so-called 'Cool Pool' will launch next month with three LNG vessels from Dynagas, three from GasLog, and eight from Golar. These 14 vessels will represent 38% of all ships actively trading in the LNG spot market, according to data from IHS Energy.
