However, as autumn arrives, there has still been a significant increase in activity as numerous bulk carrier sales have been concluded over the past couple of weeks. Uncertainty about the direction of the freight markets appears to have had little to no dampening effect on buyers' enthusiasm, especially for modern tonnage. Once again, Greek owners are at the forefront of buying activity, although sales reports also include a variety of Asian-based buyers as well, and the number of vessels sold at auction by distressed sellers is also quite noteworthv.
