Mitsui OSK Lines wants to stabilise its earnings by focusing on the liquefied natural gas (LNG) and offshore sectors, which stress long-term contracts. Speaking at the 130th anniversary of MOL's founding, president Koichi Muto said: "We will focus on shifting away from an earnings structure that is at the mercy of market trends, aiming at stable, long-term earnings." MOL, Japan's biggest shipowner, has predicted revenues of ¥1.9Trn ($15.5Bn) in 2016, up by ¥200Bn from the expected ¥1.7Trn in FY2013.
