With the deadline for reviewing the agreement that partly suspended Western sanctions on Iran less than a month away, IHS Martime has reviewed their effects on Iran's crude export cargoes. Several trends are evident as the 12 July review deadline approaches. Back in January, IHS Maritime commented on National Iranian Tanker Co's (NITC's) extensive spare capacity in its active fleet and noted that idle vessels could be swiftly brought back online should Iran wish to expand exports. But has this expansion taken place or has Iran stuck to its agreement to limit exports to less than 1M barrels per dav (bpd)?
