Wybcke Meier has been named as the new CEO of German shipowner TUI Cruises. She will replace Richard J Vogel, who issued a surprise announcement earlier this month that he was resigning "to pursue other entrepreneurial challenges". Meier, 45, will take the helm on 1 October. Like her predecessor, she has a considerable history in the German travel industry and is now working out her notice as managing director of Windrose Finest Travel and OHT. Her career began at Fischer Reisen after she qualified as a travel agent. When that company was acquired by Condor, she oversaw the integration of the two and established C&N Touristic before becoming sales manager at travel shopping channel Vial - Schoener Reisen in 2000.
