While the container ship charter market remains static, by and large, as the European holiday period draws closer, diverging trends for geared and gearless ships are becoming more apparent. Momentum in the larger gearless sectors remained fairly high last week, underlined by further gains for the biggest Panamax ships and 2,700teu sub-Panamax types, whereas self-sustained vessels of all sizes are finding themselves under increasing pressure.
