Maritime loss adjusters are adopting a new business strategy that reflects the relentless hunt for lower costs by insurers and shipowners. Pressure to cut costs might lead to adjusters creating a new level of no-frills service, according to Ton Schox, global marine practice chief at Cunningham Lindsey. He made the prediction as established adjusters in Asia face increased competition, some of it from local adjusters who have formed their own companies and are trying to undercut the international groups where they learned their trade.
