The American government has not revised its ban on crude exports, but its new allowance for cargoes of lightly processed field condensate could be a sign of things to come. Favourable Commerce Department rulings on condensate exports were recently obtained by Enterprise Products Partners (EPP) and Pioneer Natural Resource (PNR). More applicants are reportedly queuing up. The maiden outbound shipment of US field condensates is set to begin loading in Texas next week, IHS Maritime has confirmed. The LR1 product tanker BW Zambesi has been chartered by Westport Petroleum starting on 29 July to carry US-produced condensate to Singapore. Westport is owned by Japanese trading house Mitsui, which reportedly signed a contract to purchase condensate from EPP.
