Alastair MacAulay's first major career decision was to let the wet Scottish weather blow him all the way to Hong Kong. "[ was working at a law firm in Edinburgh. The rains were going past the windows and it was cold in the room," he tells IHS Maritime. "Someone in the room said, 'Here is a job, ship finance in Hong Kong'. "I just said to him, 'Cut that out and give it to me right now! That's my job!... That was kind of an accident, because I didn't really know anything about Hong Kong."
