Last year saw a significant amount of activity and change in the market for marine cylinder lubricants, with major suppliers adding new products. Two new single oils, offered by two leading oil companies and launched in 2012, revived a longstanding debate surrounding universal and single-solution lubricants. The debate is focused on the arguments for and against the efficacy of single-solution lubricants - a step change for an industry that is used to multiple-solution cylinder oil products.
