The underwriting of US-listed shipping equity is no longer the gold mine it was in the boom times, but it is still good business for investment banks. An exclusive Fairplay analysis reveals that these underwriters, primarily based in New York, took in S98.7M in commissions from US public shipping offerings last year, up $13M, or 15%, from $85.7M in 2011.
