A desire by a southeastern US port to get a piece of Toyota's business has aligned with the automotive giant's strategy to get more use out of its North American production and create a new US-eastern Europe car-carrier supply route. In late February Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) announced that in April it would begin exporting the Japanese carmaker's Venza crossover sport-utility vehicle to Russia and Ukraine through GPA's Colonel's Island Terminal at the Port of Brunswick, Georgia.
