Among the many myths surrounding the Greek deity Hermes are his conquests as the 'messenger of the gods' and talisman of gain and riches from trade and commerce. WeberSeas (Hellas) co-founder and managing director Basil Mavroleon makes no claim to being an Olympian god. However, he has descended upon Greece as an ambassador of private equity, the de facto gods of cash in today's penurious times, with the hope of leading private Greek shipowners to gain and riches. "Let us put this in simple terms -WeberSeas' aim is to introduce the right Greek owners to the right private-equity partners," Mavroleon told Fairplay.
