Even before Eurotunnel started to operate its own ferry service, MyFerryLink, across the Channel last northern summer, there was little love lost between the rail company and its maritime rivals. "This is not a normal commercial company to compete against," has been a common ferry operator's complaint in the 19 years since the tunnel was opened. So the UK Competition Commission's ruling last week, effectively against MyFerryLink continuing to compete with P&O Ferries and DFDS, was always going to be emotive. It did not disappoint.
