The fortunes of Spain's Barreras shipyard look set to be turned around spectacularly following its recent announcement that it had signed a letter of intent that will bring it under the control of Mexican oil group Pemex. The Vigo-based yard, which has been inoperative since completing its final order in July 2011, was due to build an offshore accommodation platform for Pemex under the terms of an agreement announced last September.
