"I am in an aggressive acquisition mode and will announce a new half-billion-dollar deal this month," Harvey Gulf International Marine chief executive Shane Guidry revealed to Fairplay. If consummated the transaction would push Harvey's total capital outlays for new assets over the past half-decade to about $2.25Bn. "I suppose other owners are different because they do not have so much at stake," Guidry responded when asked to put this imminent expansion in context. In 2008, Guidry teamed up with middle-market private-equity player The Jordan Company to buy out the original Harvey Gulf. In a deal valued by analysts at S500M, Jordan holds a 76% stake and Guidry the remaining 24%.
