ECO-Assistant, a trim optimisation tool from GL-subsidiary FutureShip that was launched three years ago, has been upgraded to version 4.0 and incorporates a number of new features. These include a fuel consumption calculator, system usage monitoring, benefit reporting, and an e-learning module to speed familiarity with the system. Trim optimisation is increasingly recognised as one of the most effective tools for enhancing ship fuel efficiency, with many system developers promising rapid payback times.
