South Korea's biggest container shipping company Hanjin Shipping, like many of its peers, has been feeling the supply pressures from peak deliveries of ultra-large container ships (ULCSs) this year. Baek Dae-hyoun, chief executive of Hanjin's bulk business unit, told Fairplay the company was deploying mega-sized ships according to changes in supply and demand, while attempting to control a rapid rise in supply caused by voyage cancellation and the delay of newbuildings.
