The ability to offer other services, reliability and quality are the hallmarks of a successful bunkering hub. The Strait of Gibraltar is a key transit area at the crossroads of the world's main shipping lanes connecting Europe, West Africa, America, and Asia. Gibraltar has traditionally been the kingpin in bunker provision there, but the ports of Algeciras, Ceuta and Tanger Med are all jostling to win share at one of the world's key strategic choke points.
