Figures recently released by the International Underwriting Association (IUA), which represents underwriters conducting business in London outside of Lloyd's, revealed that premium income written in the London company market reached nearly £18Bn ($29Bn) in 2012, consolidating the city's role as the heart of the global marine insurance market. Of that figure, the marine classes accounted for 17% of income generated, marking a significant increase from the previous 12 months.
