Outlook: Rates for container vessels of 4,250 and 3,500teu continued to stabilise last week whereas the smaller size classes saw losses again. MSC and Maersk were reported to have fixed ships in the 4,000-5,000teu range on a par with last done levels at around $8,000/day for short to medium periods. Oversupply of spot vessels remains a major concern for owners.
