It was Ravi Mehrotra's restlessness that branded him as a bit of a troublemaker. The ambitious young chief engineer came ashore and joined the head office of Shipping Corp of India at the end of 1971. He seems to have stirred up the sedate, bureaucratic directors: within two years they had transferred him to a post that was out of harm's way - supervising and operating all the ships owned by the Government of India and managed by SCI.
