Security costs have a significant impact on logistics operators, believes Mathias Giinther, company security officer of box ship operator Hamburg Siid. He will address a session at the Maritime Security and Defence conference being held during next week's SMM exhibition in Hamburg, where he is expected to say piracy is a burden on global trade that inflicts major losses upon international shipping.
