Bunker prices saw strong gains last week with the BW380 and BWDI index reaching their highest level in two years. On Thursday, the BW380 index closed at $576.5/tonne up $34 from last Thursday and the BWDI closed at $874.50. Political unrest in Egypt sent panic through the markets with crude oil futures on the Nymex trading at two-year highs of $92.19 and Brent breaching $103/barrel.
