A public hearing will be held into Europe's state aid policies for shipbuilding on 18 April in Gdansk. It is free to attend and Fairplay readers and others can register their interest online (see below). The event is being organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), prompted by the European Commission's work programme for 2011. This includes plans to revise the existing framework for state aid to shipbuilding, which comes to an end this year.
