Standardisation would make ECDIS equipment easier to use, say senior managers at Kelvin Hughes, who believe it will eventually become a requirement. Pilots will probably prompt this change, said Spike Hughes, director of the company's commercial and equipment business, during a briefing at the company's headquarters last week, because of the large number of different products they encounter.
