The chief executive of the Shipowners Mutual P&l Club has said the establishment of a Singapore office to serve the Southeast Asian market has been a vital component in the firm's success. Charles Hume said the specific tonnage portfolio targeting the smaller end of the commercial shipping market, including tugs and bunker vessels, meant the club needed to be able to access areas away from the core shipping centres.
