Heading into the Trans-Pacific Maritime Conference on 7-8 March in Long Beach, California, CMA CGM America president Frank Baragona was optimistic on the chances of a 7-9% improvement in box demand from retail customers in the US trans-Pacific trade this year. That scenario would have matched up with the 8-9% increase in teu capacity the Marseille-based liner company is anticipating in 2011.
