In late March, German logistics provider Weiss Rohlig launched a trans-Siberian container service that linked markets in the Far East with Russia and the Central Asian republics.Franco Ravazzalo, project logistics and break-bulk manager for Weiss Rohlig, said: "Demand is increasing to provide direct services from China to Russia and Central Asia via rail, rather than shipping to northern Europe and then connecting to the European rail network.
