It may have been an inherent wanderlust that plotted Coolin Desai's course into becoming one of the UK's leading lights in transport logistics. When he graduated from London's City University in 1988 with a degree in banking and international finance he had two options: stay in the UK and begin a safe, but predictable, career in the City or go abroad and experience a different culture. "I chose to go to Zurich to work as a financial analyst there for Citibank," he recalls. "Living abroad was one of the best experiences of my life. It was hard work - I had to learn the language and operate in it - but I learned a lot about different cultural attitudes and ways of doing business."
