Tim Beaver CEO of Global Diving & Salvage, has been elected president of the American Salvage Association for 2011-13. He succeeds Mauricio Garrido, who served as president from 2009-11. Paul Hankins, Donjon-SMIT, has been elected VP, with Todd Schauer of Resolve Marine Group as secretary/treasurer. ASA's executive committee includes David DeVilbiss of Global Diving & Salvage, Dan Schwall (Titan Salvage) and Bob Umbenstock (Resolve Marine Group). "ASA will remain focused on the OPA 90 salvage and marine firefighting regulations for tankers, pending regulations for non-tank vessels, responder immunity, Arctic response and the Quality Partnership with the US Coast Guard, as well as continuing tc strengthen our industry's commitment to the marine environment," Beaver said.
