Outlook: The time charter market took another knock last week, with the Panamax segment slumping closer to the lows of 2009 as more fixtures at about $8,000/day emerged. The ConTex lost more than 6% and is hovering 2096 below its level of this time last year. There was talk of increased fixing and failing in the 2,000-3,000teu segment and a rate erosion in the l,600/l,700teu sector too, as pressure from the bigger sizes filtered down. Feeder ships below l,300teu were achieving last done levels amid only moderate activity and rising availability.
