Oversupply of container slot capacity could melt down faster than expected as the effect of newbuild-ing cancellations, delivery delays and slow steaming takes hold, according to research from London shipbroker Howe Robinson.rnSpeaking at the Marine Money conference in Hamburg, the company's research director Paul Dowell anticipated a recovery of container ship timecharter rates to more "normal" levels by 2012, provided that container traffic growth rebounds to levels of about 9% from this year.
