Container ship owners and operators have been offered new timecharter indices with effect from this week in what could open up fresh opportunities for "strategic fixing".rnThe Container Ship Time Charter Assessment Index (ConTex), compiled by the Hamburg Shipbrokers' and Ship Agents' Association (VHSS), has been complemented by three larger size categories. Besides geared l,100teu, l,700teu and 2,500teu types, it is now also posting benchmark daily hire rates twice each week for gearless 2,700teu, 3,500teu and 4,250teu vessels.
