Not long ago, this trade relied mostly on conventional ferries andrnother vessels which took up to ten hours to make the crossing two or three times a week.rnBut when Virtu Ferries began operating a high-speed catamaran service in 1988, thingsrnbegan to change on the 93-kilometre stretch of water known as the Straits of Sicily.
