The decision by the Grand Alliance partners to cut one loop from its Asia-north Europe service last week, with immediate effect, is interesting for two reasons. While this is clearly not the first loop to be axed - reports now suggest up to 10 similar loops have been cut on the north Europe run - it is a clear sign that slow steaming, longer voyages and different ships are having little effect.rnAccording to a statement, the suspension will last until June at the earliest, but there is no reason to suppose the second half of the year will be brighter than the first.
