Major ship operators in Russia are saying very little about the impact of the financial crisis on their activities, and Moscow-based analysts are unable to offer much insight into refinancing pressures.rnStanislavVartanyan, chief spokesman for Far Eastern Shipping Co, acknowledged to Fairplay that his company must meet several repayment obligations by the end of June. This comes at a time when rail statistics show there has been a reduction of 25-30% in transport volumes across the country. "That depresses our revenues quite seriously," he told Fairplay.rnFesco's financial report for the sixrnmonths ending 30 June 2008, issued in November, identified loans and obligations totalling S995.6M - up 23% from six months earlier. A note from Fesco's auditor, Moore Stephens, said that of the loan aggregate, $431.8M is due for repayment before 30 June 2009.The auditor noted that 49 vessels in the fleet have been pledged as security for loans from ING, Calyon, and state-controlled Vneshtorgbank.
