Keen to keep his senses sharp when away from the water, the Captain likes nothing better than spending his land-based free time embroiled in a battle of wits at the poker table. However, having failed miserably in his quest to qualify cheaply for any events at this year's World Series of Poker - a prestigious showcase of high-stakes tournaments currently taking place in Las Vegas - he looked set to spend the summer slumming it at the local low-stakes rngames. But a new promotion from Carnival Cruise Lines will give the Captain an alternative shot at glory. The PokerPro Challenge will see a series of $150 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold 'Em tournaments take place during each voyage of the line's 22 ships between now and October. And two jolly jacks would be a good start.
