Analysts in all markets have found green shoots where new growth reforests a decimated area. Mike Reardon, vice-president of research and marketing at Imarex, sees a brightened outlook, telling investors: "Although we haven't yet seen 37.5 fixed ex-AG, many brokers expect this to soon be'next done'. It also seems that demand may indeed be increasing just enough to get returns back above operating expenses. General optimism may also be playing a role - in terms of both the global economy and demand specific to tankers."
