A two-year project to demonstrate scrubber technology has resulted in success, with DNV granting a compliance certificate for the first exhaust gas cleaning system capable of meeting the requirements of SOx Emission Control Areas.rnDNV approved the system on behalf of the Finnish Maritime Administration after overseeing the system's installation and successful operation. The project involved Waertsilae, Neste Oil Shipping, DNV, Aker Yard and Metso Power.
