A once-popular Ireland-UK passenger service will re-commence on 1 March 2010, thanks to the enthusiasm - and cash - of a co-operative. Three years ago, Ireland's Swansea Cork Ferries sold its ship Superferry and, unable to find a replacement, decided to close the Cork-Swansea service.rnUnhappy about its demise, the West Cork Tourism Co-operative - a group of local business people from Cork, Kerry and South Wales - started a fund-raising campaign contributing €10,000 ($14,800) apiece and eventually raising €2.5M towards another ferry.
