Maersk Line, the world's largest container shipping company, is to axe up to 12% of its 25,000 workers to attempt returning the biggest business area of AP Moller-Maerskto financial health. Maersk Line's problems began with the introduction of a new IT system in 2005, which was launched without proper testing. That resulted in document glitches and the late arrivals of containers.
