Wilmer Ruperti,Venezuela's largest shipowner, remains embroiled in a legal battle over fraud allegations. The civil lawsuit alleges a complex international web of deception, secret deals and bribes. Accusations have been levelled against Ruperti by UK ship manager Novoship and shipowners Cally, Vital and Dainford, stemming from the 2002-7 charters of the tankers Marshal Chuykov, Moscow Kremlin and MoscowStars.
