The fallout from the Hebei Spirit oil spill is affecting the tanker market. Largely restricted to trading to the Far East, single-hull tankers have attracted much lower freight rates than double-hull ships on the same voyage - in some cases by 45 Worldscale points. Cargoes of 260,000 tonnes were being fixed at W115 on double-hull tankers. But it wasn't all bad news. Bunker prices have fallen considerably in recent days.
