Last week was another depressing period for owners, with rates in the Irabian Gulf and indeed most areas showing a softening tone. Owners must now seriously be reconsidering lay-up as a short-term measure, as rates for the larger vessels have now dropped to the 'stop rate' at which it is cheaper to remove them from the market.
