Repair and conversion of vessels is the most hazardous work in shipping, so safety promotion must be accorded the highest priority, said Nelson Yeo Chen Sheng, executive director of Keppel Shipyard, addressing the recent launch of Keppel's Safety Excellence 2010 drive. "Repair and conversions is the most hazardous, as it involves handling vessels coming to our yards with oil, residual silt, dents and fractured tanks," Yeo told Fairplay.
