A period of introspection is currently characterising the sale and purchase market. In the tanker market potential sellers'thoughts are perhaps dwelling on the thorny problem of whether to wait for an upturn in the crude market. VLCC rates are in the weakening part of the cycle. We will have to wait a few weeks for the fourth quarter turnaround before any action on modern big ships occurs.
